“The White Gold of Sicily”
For four generations, the Culcasi family has been harvesting this precious product from their salt pans off the western coast of Sicily.
It’s all collected by hand, dried by the sun, and ground by stainless steel millstones — a process that takes almost 2 years to complete.
Unlike industrially processed salts, Trapanese sea salt retains over 70 trace minerals, such as iodine, calcium, potassium, and magnesium. This creates a much more complex and balanced flavor than bleached sodium chloride.
Due to the Culcasi family’s dedication to artisanal and sustainable harvesting methods, their salt pans are certified Slow Food Presdia.
